In the 2019 Assembly election, Prajakt Tanpure of the NCP emerged victorious with 54.3% of the votes, defeating Shivaji Kardile of the BJP, who secured 42.7% of the votes. Kardile had, however, won the seat in 2014 with 47.09% of the votes, while the NCP candidate at that time, Gade Shivajiraje Rambhau, received 12.44% of the votes.
A significant portion of the constituency's population resides in rural areas, making up approximately 80.89% of the total voters, according to the 2011 Census.
