Vile parle
Vile Parle is one of the 288 assembly constituencies in Maharashtra. It falls in suburban Mumbai district and is a general category assembly seat. It is one of the 6 assembly segments of Mumbai North Central Parliament Seat.
According to the 2011 census estimates, Andheri East has a total population of 3,90,902, with 100% of the population residing in urban areas and none in rural areas. Among the total population, Scheduled Castes (SC) make up 3.79%, while Scheduled Tribes (ST) constitute 0.8%.
In the 2019 Maharashtra Assembly elections for the Vile Parle seat, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Alavani Parag emerged as the winner, securing 84,991 votes. His closest contender, Jayanti Jivabhai Siroya from the Indian National Congress, received 26,564 votes.
A BJP win this time would solidify Vile Parle as a BJP stronghold. Before Alavani’s victory in 2014, the BJP had never won in this constituency, marking a notable shift in political alignment for the area.
