Partur, a legislative assembly constituency in Maharashtra, is part of the Parbhani Lok Sabha constituency and encompasses Partur and Mantha tehsils.
The region is traversed by the Godavari River, whilst the Upper Dudhna Dam is situated near the Dudhna River. The local economy primarily depends on agriculture, with residents cultivating crops such as cotton, pigeon pea (arhar), sorghum (jowar), wheat and sugarcane.
The demographic data from the 2011 Census indicates that Partur has 35,883 residents, with 18,401 males and 17,482 females.
The area's literacy rate is 79.52%, below Maharashtra's state average of 82.34%. Males show a literacy rate of 86.03%, whilst females register 72.72%. Children below six years comprise 14.13% of the population. The female sex ratio stands at 950, exceeding the state average of 929. The constituency includes 10.57% Scheduled Caste (SC) and 3.77% Scheduled Tribe (ST) populations.
The 2019 Maharashtra Assembly elections saw Babanrao Yadav of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) emerge victorious with 106,321 votes. The Congress representative, Jethaliya Kanhaiyalal, received 80,379 votes, whilst Shivaji Sawane of the Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi (VBA) secured 8,616 votes.
