Paithan assembly constituency
Paithan Assembly Constituency is one of Maharashtra’s 288 assembly constituencies, designated as a General category seat.
It falls under the Jalna Lok Sabha constituency, along with five other assembly segments: Badnapur, Jalna, and Bhokardan in Jalna district, as well as Silod and Phulambri in Aurangabad district.
According to the 2011 Census, Paithan has a population of 34,556, with males comprising 51% and females 49%. The average literacy rate stands at 67%, with male literacy at 75% and female literacy at 60%.
The Paithan constituency is situated in the Aurangabad district, which has a total of 3,145,203 registered voters. With upcoming elections, candidates and parties are expected to intensify their campaigns to gain voter support.
Earlier in the 2019 elections, Paithan constituency had a total of 294,058 registered voters. Shiv Sena candidate Bhumare Sandipanrao Asaram won the seat, securing 83,403 votes, while Nationalist Congress Party candidate Dattatray Radhakisan Gorde finished second with 69,264 votes, resulting in a margin of 14,139 votes.
