In the 2019 Assembly elections, Chetan Tupe of the NCP won a competitive race against the BJP candidate Yogesh Tilekar, securing 1,10,365 votes. Tilekar received 92,775 votes.
In 2014, Tilekar of the BJP had won the seat with 1,02,165 votes (55.6%), while the NCP candidate followed with 60,472 votes (32.9%).
According to the 2011 Census, SC voters in Hadapsar constitute about 11.2% of the electorate, while ST voters represent around 5.4%. Hadapsar is primarily urban with a mix of semi-urban areas.
