Achalpur Assembly constituency is one of 288 seats in the Maharashtra Vidhan Sabha. It is a General category assembly seat.
Achalpur is a part of Amravati (Lok Sabha constituency) along with five other Vidhan Sabha assembly constituencies viz. Badnera, Amravati, Teosa, Daryapur (SC) and Melghat (ST) .
In the 2019 elections, Prahar Janshakti Party secured a win in Achalpur Assembly constituency. Bachchu Babarao Kadu of PJSP party won with 81,252 votes, defeating Aniruddha Alias Bablubhau Subhanrao Deshmukh of INC with a margin of 8,396 votes.
According to the last Census conducted in 2011, Achalpur had a population of 2,79,479. Average literacy rate of Achalpur in 2011 were 79.43%.
