Ralegaon Assembly constituency
Ralegaon Assembly constituency, one of the 288 Vidhan Sabha constituencies in Maharashtra, is located in Yavatmal district.
It falls under the Yavatmal-Washim Lok Sabha constituency, which also includes the Washim district and five other Vidhan Sabha constituencies: Washim, Karanja, Yavatmal (ST), Digras, and Pusad.
In the 2019 Maharashtra Assembly elections, Ralegaon recorded a voter turnout of 69%. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Ashok Ramaji Wooike emerged victorious, defeating Indian National Congress (INC) candidate Vasant Chindhuji Purke by a margin of 9,875 votes.
Wooike had also won the seat in the 2014 elections with a significant lead, securing 100,618 votes.
For the upcoming 2024 Assembly elections, the BJP has once again fielded Ashok Ramaji Wooike, who will face off against INC's Prof. Vasant Chindhuji Purke. With a history of BJP dominance in the constituency, the 2024 election is expected to be a closely contested battle.
