Voters in the Kankavli Assembly constituency will head to the polls on November 20th to decide their representative in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly. The incumbent, Nitesh Rane of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), is seeking re-election against Shiv Sena (UBT) candidate Sandesh Bhaskar Parkar. Chandrakant Abaji Jadhav is also running on the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) ticket.
Rane won the seat in 2019 with a significant margin, securing 56.16% of the votes. He defeated Shiv Sena's Satish Jagannath Sawant by over 28,000 votes. In 2014, Rane won the seat as a candidate for the Congress party, defeating the BJP's Jathar Pramod Shantaram.
Over 230,000 voters are registered in the Kankavli constituency. The results of the election will be announced on November 23rd, along with the results of the other 287 Assembly constituencies in Maharashtra.
