Residents of Indranagar Colony in Hapur's Garh Mukhteshwar are facing eviction from their homes, many built under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY). The municipal corporation claims 41 houses, mostly Dalit-owned, are illegally built on civic land. Locals argue they've lived there for 40 years with municipal services and PMAY approval.
A woman was caught on CCTV assaulting a toll booth operator at the Chhijarsi Toll Plaza in Hapur after her FASTag showed insufficient balance. The woman slapped and attempted to strangle the attendant, while two men accompanying her misbehaved with staff. Police have registered a case and are working to locate the woman involved in the incident.
