How to move structures in RuneScape: Dragonwilds

RuneScape: Dragonwilds introduces base-building, but lacks a direct 'move' function for structures. Currently, players must enter build mode, toggle repair mode, and delete the structure to reclaim materials. Then, they can rebuild it in the desired location. While cumbersome, this workaround is the only option until Jagex implements a dedicated move feature in future updates.

RuneScape: Dragonwilds, the latest addition introduces a base-building mechanic that allows players to create crafting stations, shelters, and more to survive the harsh world of Ashenfall. While base building adds depth and creativity to the game, it’s not without its frustrations. One such frustration is placing structures in the wrong spot, which can leave you wondering how to move them around.
As of now, RuneScape: Dragonwilds does not offer a dedicated “move” function to shift structures after placing them. This feature is one that players have eagerly anticipated, and though it’s missing in the current build, there is still a workaround to help you relocate your buildings. Here's how you can do it.

Steps to move structures in RuneScape: Dragonwilds

  • Enter Build Mode: To start the process, press the "B" key to enter Build Mode. This mode allows you to place new structures and manage your existing ones.
  • Toggle Repair Mode: Next, press the "T" key or click the "Toggle Repair Mode" option from the top-right corner of your screen. This mode will give you the ability to delete or repair structures.
  • Delete the Structure: Once you're in Repair Mode, approach the structure you want to move and click the middle mouse button. A prompt will appear, allowing you to delete the structure. Deleting the structure will drop all the materials used to build it, allowing you to reclaim those resources.
  • Collect the Materials: After deleting the structure, make sure to collect the materials that were dropped. These can include wood, stone, and other building resources.
  • Rebuild the Structure: Now that you’ve reclaimed the materials, go back into Build Mode and place the structure again in the desired location. You’ll need to follow the same process as when you initially built the structure, using the materials you gathered.

Although this process may seem a bit cumbersome, it’s currently the only way to move your structures in Dragonwilds. The developers at Jagex have yet to implement a direct “move” feature, but this workaround will suffice until that happens.
While the inability to move structures might seem like a limitation, it's worth noting that RuneScape: Dragonwilds is still in early access. With the developers promising future updates, there's hope that new features like a creative mode or an improved building system could make it easier for players to adjust their bases without having to rebuild from scratch.
For now, players will need to make do with this workaround, but with the potential for more updates, it’s an exciting time for builders in RuneScape: Dragonwilds.
