Sikandar box office Day 17: Collections fall to Rs 25 lakh as Salman Khan starrer struggles to cross Rs 110 crore mark
Salman Khan's much-hyped action drama Sikandar is facing a tough battle at the box office, with its collections falling daily.
On its third Monday, the film reportedly earned just Rs 29 lakh, marking one of its lowest single-day figures since release. However, Tuesday saw the film dip to a new low of just Rs 25 lakh. Despite an initially strong opening weekend, Sikandar is now struggling to breach the Rs 110 crore mark domestically.
Sikandar Movie Review
Released amid much fanfare and heavy promotion, the film had a decent start with a Rs 90 crore debut week, thanks to Khan’s loyal fan base and Eid holiday which helped the film score its highest box office collection of Rs 29 crore. However, word-of-mouth and mixed reviews seem to have taken a toll on its long-term performance. The collections began tapering off in its second week with the film earning just around Rs 17 crore and have now slumped further, earning just Rs 1.84 crore in its third week thus far.

As of Tuesday, Sikandar stands at an estimated Rs109.64 crore nett in India, states a report on Sacnilk.com. The film which released on Eid, can expect a good fourth weekend at the box office with the upcoming extended Easter holiday. Trade analysts note that unless there’s a dramatic resurgence over the coming weekend, the film may end its theatrical run with only marginal gains beyond Rs 115 crore. This could just go on to become one of Salman's worst-performing films at the box office in recent times.
Defending Salman, fellow Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar extended his support, stating that Khan is as a resilient figure and compared him to his Spy character Tiger. Speaking to Hindustan Times, Akshay said, "Tiger zinda hai aur hamesha rahega."
The underperformance has raised eyebrows, especially given Salman Khan’s history of blockbuster hits. Directed by A.R. Murugadoss and featuring Khan in a gritty role alongside a supporting cast, Sikandar was expected to be one of the year’s biggest hits.
