Patna: A young woman's body was found at a private film studio in the Fatuha area of Patna district late on Sunday night. The family believes that she was killed by someone.
The deceased, Gudiya Kumari (20), was pursuing her graduation while working part time at the studio. Her uncle, Gautam, said that when Gudiya did not return home by Sunday evening, they tried to contact her on the phone. After failed attempts to reach her on phone, the family members searched the studio on the Station Road under the Fatuha police station area and found her body. Strangulation marks were found on her neck, they said.
Upon receiving the information, the police recovered the body and sent it for an autopsy. The forensic team conducted an investigation at the studio on Monday. The operator at the studio escaped from the place.
The victim's family alleged that the proprietor of the studio and his associates harassed Gudiya, and when she resisted, they strangled her. SDPO-I, Fatuha, Nikhil Kumar, said: "It appears to be a case of murder. The body was sent to the NMCH for postmortem. The forensic team is conducting a probe. The studio owner is absconding."
He added, "The family has registered an FIR against the studio operator Bittu Kumar. Police are looking for the studio owner. The police are awaiting the autopsy report and also checking the CCTV footage of the nearby areas."
