Sunny Deol's 'Jaat' is doing exceptionally well at the box office. The film did not cross the double digit number when it released and made only Rs 9.5 crore on day 1. However, it saw tremendous growth over the first weekend, especially on Sunday.
Jaat Movie Review'Jaat' inches towards Rs 50 crore
The film which also stars Randeep Hooda and Vineet Kumar Singh in pivotal roles saw a good growth over the weekend. According to Sacnilk, the movie 9.75 crore on Saturday and Rs 14 crore on Sunday. As per the early trends, it is expected to hold well even on Monday. So far, up till the morning shows, the number on day 5 has already reached Rs 4.09 crore. Thus, the total collection of the film in India is Rs
44.34
crore. If it maintains the similar trend of Sunday or even slightly less than that, it may still be able to cross Rs 50 crore. There is Ambedkar Jayanti holiday in some parts of the country, thus, this may benefit in getting more footfalls.
Competition from 'Good Bad Ugly'
The 'Gadar' actor is known to dominate in areas like Punjab and Haryana. However, the film is doing well even in Rajasthan. There was scope of the film to do much better in Maharashtra and Gujarat. In the south centres, it's facing a tough competition from Ajith Kumar's 'Good Bad Ugly' which is now inching towards Rs 100 crore. Meanwhile, the charm of 'Sikandar' is now beginning to fade.
Competition from 'Kesari Chapter 2'
Akshay Kumar's 'Kesari Chapter 2' is creating a good buzz and it may be expected to give 'Jaat' a tough competition. But till then, the Sunny Deol starrer has time till Friday to make the most of it. Post that, it will all depend on the kind of reviews which 'Kesari 2' gets.

ETimes Review of 'Jaat'
"Visually, the film holds its own. Thaman S’s background score heightens the drama effectively, and the cinematography offers a gritty, lived-in aesthetic. Action sequences, while often overindulgent, are slick and impactful. The dialogues, penned by Saurabh Gupta and Sai Madhav Burra, are over-the-top and theatrical—often more memorable than the scenes themselves.
However, narrative pacing becomes a significant issue post-interval. The second half drags, and the film’s 153-minute runtime begins to weigh heavily. A forced item number featuring Urvashi Rautela feels unnecessary and only adds to the film’s bloated feel.
Perhaps the most glaring flaw in Jaat is its treatment of female characters. Regina Cassandra, as Ranatunga’s wife Bharathi, and Saiyami Kher, as a fierce senior police officer Vijayalaskhmi, are criminally underused. Kher, in particular, starts strong but is soon reduced to a plot device.
Jaat delivers exactly what it promises: a nostalgia-fueled action drama powered by its male leads and dialogue-heavy theatrics. But for all its sound and fury, it lacks the courage to push beyond its comfort zone. It’s a decent one-time watch for fans of old-school Deol-led actioners, but for anyone seeking innovation or depth, Jaat may feel like a missed opportunity wrapped in a thunderous punch."
