Sony has announced an increase in the recommended retail prices (RRPs) of PlayStation 5 consoles in select markets across Europe, Australia, and New Zealand. The price rise, as announced by the company in a blog post, is effective from today, April 14, 2025. “With a backdrop of a challenging economic environment, including high inflation and fluctuating exchange rates, SIE has made the tough decision to raise the recommended retail price (RRP) of the PlayStation 5 console in select markets in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA), Australia and New Zealand,�?the company said in a statement.
In a similar move, the company has also reduced the RRP of the PS5 Disc Drive in these regions.
