Nashik: The police nabbed three externed criminals on Monday. Cases were registered against them by Ambad and Bhadrakali police.
Constable Mahesh Salunke of the crime branch unit 1 received information that externed Altaf Sayyad was coming to Badadenagar in Ambad. He had been externed from Nashik city for two years.
A trap was laid in Badadenagar. However, Altaf spotted the police and fled, hiding in a shed. The police team began tracing him. When they dicovered the hiding spot, Altaf ran again. He was arrested after a chase.
Later Altaf was handed over to Ambad police for further legal action. The police said that such externed criminals are sent out of the city limits. If found violating their externment, the criminals are jailed.
Another criminal, Om Sase (24) of Bhoi Galli, Amardham Road, was nabbed on Sunday around 1am from Dudh Bazar in Bhadrakali.
The police said Sase was externed from the city and the district for 18 months, yet he entered without police permission. Sase has five cases of causing harm, thefts, etc, registered against him from 2019 to 2023.
A third criminal, Vicky Javre of Takli, externed from the city for a period of one year, was found in Takli on Sunday afternoon.
While the police continuously take preventive action like externment against criminals on police records, many times it is found that these criminals re-enter the city without police permission to commit crimes.
