Coimbatore: Two witnesses were examined by the defence counsel at the district mahila court in Coimbatore on Tuesday in connection with the sensational Pollachi rape case.
Pollachi east police sub-inspector Gowtham and Pollachi Govt Hospital Superintendent Dr Raja appeared before the district mahila court on Tuesday. The defence counsel examined them in the in-camera proceedings at the court hall.
N Rishwanth alias Sabarirajan, K Thirunavukkarasu, T Vasanthakumar, N Sathish, R Manivannan alias Mani, K Arulanantham, Heron Paul, P Babu alias Bike Babu, and M Arunkumar, all from Pollachi, were arrested in 2019 by the
Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for their involvement allegedly raping several women. The accused had recorded the crime on their mobile cameras and harassed the victims.
