Man hacked to death over illicit affair in Vizianagaram district

In Chamalapalle village, Vizianagaram, T Prasad, a 36-year-old tent house supplier, was fatally attacked by his neighbor, N Murali, on Wednesday night. VIZIANAGARAM: A 36-year-old man was hacked to death by his neighbour over an alleged affair in Chamalapalle village of S Kota mandal in Vizianagaram district on Wednesday night. The victim, identified as T Prasad, a resident of Chamalapalle, was a tent house supplier. Locals said Prasad had provided tents and other arrangements for a pre-wedding celebration held on the outskirts of the village on Thursday. According to eyewitnesses, N Murali, also a resident of Chamalapalle, attacked Prasad with a sharp-edged weapon on Wednesday night as he was returning from the pre-wedding celebration. Police suspect that Murali had been waiting for hours in a nearby hut to ambush him. When Prasad saw Murali approaching with the weapon, he attempted to flee, but Murali managed to strike him in the chest and neck. Prasad was found dead in a pool of blood at the scene. Initial investigations revealed that Prasad was allegedly involved in an illicit relationship with Murali’s wife. Despite several warnings, Prasad reportedly continued the affair, police said. A special team has been formed to trace Murali, who is a small farmer in the village. A case has been registered, and the body was sent for post-mortem.
