The new Carens Clavis will be offered in seven variants - HTE, HTE(O), HTK, HTK+, HTK+(O), HTX and HTX+. Colour options will include - Ivory Silver Gloss, Pewter Olive, Imperial Blue, Glacier White Pearl, Gravity Gray, Sparkling Silver, Aurora Black Pearl, and Clear White.

The upcoming Kia Clavis will be offered with three engine choices: a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol, a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol, and a 1.5-litre diesel. The turbo-petrol variant will come paired with both manual and automatic transmission options, providing buyers with greater flexibility based on their driving preferences.

Pre-bookings for the upcoming Kia Clavis will officially begin at 12:00 AM on May 9, 2025. Prospective buyers can reserve their unit by paying a booking amount of ₹25,000 either through Kia’s official website or at authorised dealerships across the country. A recent teaser hints at a fully digital instrument cluster, similar to the one offered in models like the Seltos and Syros.

Inside, the cabin gets a comprehensive makeover, starting with a redesigned dashboard and a new two-spoke steering wheel—identical to the one seen in the Kia Syros. A standout feature is the twin 12.3-inch displays: one serving as the digital instrument cluster and the other as the infotainment touchscreen.

At the back, the updated LED tail lamps are now linked by a full-width light bar, adding a sense of visual width and modern appeal. The redesigned rear bumper also gets a fresh look, complete with a silver-finished faux skid plate that enhances the vehicle’s SUV-like stance and rugged charm.

From the side, the SUV stands out with larger 17-inch dual-tone alloy wheels that sport a fresh star-inspired design—more modern and eye-catching than those on the Carens MPV. Apart from the updated wheels, elements like the black plastic cladding around the wheel arches, silver roof rails, and body-coloured door handles remain familiar, closely echoing the Carens’ styling cues.

Though it shares its roots with the Carens, the Kia Clavis sets itself apart with a fresh identity, both in design and features. Its exterior styling draws clear inspiration from the global Kia EV5, giving it a futuristic edge. The front end, in particular, has undergone a major transformation, now featuring a sharper, more angular look. A standout element is the new tri-beam LED headlamp setup housed within triangular clusters, complemented by sleek LED daytime running lights that lend the vehicle a bold and assertive presence.

Mechanically, the Clavis is expected to retain the same engine options as the Carens. A 1.5-litre turbo diesel with 115 hp, 250 nm. A 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol with 115 hp, 144 nm and a 1.5-litre turbo petrol with 160 hp power and 253Nm torque. Gearbox options will include a 6-speed MT, iMT and AT for diesel. 6-speed MT only with NA petrol and a 6-speed iMT or a 7-speed DCT with turbo petrol.

Select dealerships have already started accepting unofficial pre-orders for the upcoming Kia Clavis, ahead of its official booking window expected to open today. Customer deliveries are expected to begin soon after the SUV makes its official launch.
