NEW DELHI: A major security scare disrupted the high-voltage IPL clash between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at Eden Gardens on Wednesday after the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) received a bomb threat via email.The threatening message was discovered in CAB’s official email inbox and was traced to an unidentified sender.

Confirming the incident, CAB president Snehasish Ganguly stated that the matter is under investigation and all necessary security protocols have been activated.
"The mail was detected from an unknown ID in CAB's official email during the match. Police are investigating, and security at Eden Gardens has been beefed up," Ganguly said.The bomb threat coincided with a period of heightened national alert following the recent terror attack in Pahalgam. In response, India launched ‘Operation Sindoor’.Under the operation, the Indian Armed Forces carried out precision strikes on nine terror targets on Wednesday—four located in Pakistan (Bahawalpur, Muridke, Sarjal, and Mehmoona Joya), and five in Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK).

Chennai Super Kings edged out KKR by two wickets in a nail-biting finish, virtually knocking the defending champions out of IPL playoff contention.Chasing a target of 180, CSK got over the line with two balls to spare. Dewald Brevis was the star performer with a quickfire 52 off 25 balls, while Shivam Dube (45) and captain MS Dhoni (17 not out) played crucial supporting roles.For KKR, Vaibhav Arora stood out with figures of 3 for 48. Harshit Rana (2/43) and Varun Chakaravarthy (2/18) also made key contributions.Earlier, after electing to bat, KKR posted 179 for 6.
