One-year-old run over by car in freak accident

Rajkot: A one-year-old girl died after being run over by a car that suddenly accelerated outside her grandmother's house in Velnath Para on Morbi Road.
In his complaint, the toddler Kavya's father, Jaysukh Babariya, said that around 8 pm on Sunday, he, his wife, and their two children went to visit his mother. He parked his motorcycle outside the doorstep. As someone in a four-wheeler started honking outside, he went out to move his motorcycle to the side. His daughter Kavya followed him.
At that moment, the driver of the car accelerated suddenly, and the vehicle hit Kavya. The tyre of the car ran over her. The driver stopped the car and rushed Kavya and her family to the hospital in his car.
However, the doctors at the civil hospital declared her dead upon arrival. The driver fled the hospital after dropping them off, the police said.
