Minor scuffle between BJP cadre and TNYM members in Salem

Salem: A minor scuffle occurred between BJP cadre and Tamil Nadu Youth Movement (TNYM) members while paying tribute to an Ambedkar statue in the city on Monday.
The trouble began when the BJP cadre came to garland the statue while members of TNYM raised slogans against the saffron party and its Hindutva ideologies.
The BJP cadre in protest blocked the roundabout and raised their objections to TNYM members, which led to an altercation.
BJP cadre hurled shoes and sandals at TNYM members. However, police intervened and separated the two groups.
Eventually, police permitted BJP cadre to garland the statue.
