MC to test typing skills & speed of data entry operators working on outsource basis
Chandigarh: Amid the ongoing talk of haphazard recruitments in the UT Municipal Corporation over the past few months, the civic body has decided to test the typing skills and speed of employees working on outsource basis, who were given employment without having to appear for such a test.
The test will be held on May 6, giving them ample time to prepare for it.
The entire exercise will be conducted by MC's establishment branch, which deals with employee-related issues.
A detailed order in this regard was also issued to multiple departments, including engineering and the fire & rescue service, besides the medical office of health. It reads, "It is to intimate that the competent authority decided to take the type test on May 6 for those data entry operators (on outsource) who have not appeared in the type test earlier. Therefore, it is requested to provide the details of such data entry operators (on outsource) who have not appeared and cleared the type test to date and also to submit a certificate to this effect after obtaining the same from the concerned branch in-charges that no data entry operator (on outsource) has remained, left out without appearing in the type test."
The establishment branch is gathering the details of all such employees.
MC sources said such employees were hired at different times by different departments, so only the departments concerned will have their data.
