RR vs RCB Highlights, IPL 2025: Salt, Kohli lead RCB's 9-wicket win over RR

RCB stay unbeaten in away matches this season with an emphatic nine-wicket win over Rajasthan Royals (173/4) in Jaipur, thanks to Phiil Salt (65), Virat Kohli (62*) and Devdutt Padikkal's (40*) knocks, as they never allowed the RR bowlers a look-in. Rajasthan fielding left a lot to be desired, dropping plenty of catches, which made their task of defending 173/4 tougher. The win makes RCB No. 3 on the points table with their fourth win taking their points tally to 8, while RR stay seventh.

Clearly, Kohli and Pdikkal have been told to get done with it early to boost the net run-rate. And Padikkal (29*) answers that call with a four and six off Deshpande. And lives a charmed life off the last ball, dropped at third-man. RCB 160/1 in 16 overs.

The RCB icon brings up his landmark with a majestic straight SIX off Hasaranaga off the 39th ball of his innings, and finishes the over with a four through mid-wicket to take his total to 58* off 42 balls and RCB's to 146/1 in 15 overs. It's the 100th T20 half-century for Kohli, behind Australia's David Warner, who has scored 108 fifties.

At 124/1 in 13 overs and a well-set Virat 39* on the crease with Padikkal (13*), RCB are in cruist control with just 50 runs needed to win off 42 balls with nine wickets in hand.

The English pacer comes back to bowl his third over, and gives away just six runs in the over. Virat batting 29, Padikkal on 7. RCB 106/1 in 11 overs.

'Impact sub' Kartikeya does the trick for RR, but has the damage been done already? Salt out caught in the deep by Jaiswal for 65 off 33 balls, including 5 fours and 6 sixes. RCB 94/1 in 9 overs, need 80 runs more to win off 66 balls.

A powerful drive from Salt gave the long-off fielder no chance as the ball smashed into the boundary ropes. A 28-ball fifty for the opener. And he celebrates it with a SIX over mid-wicket. RCB 82/0 in 8 overs.

A good start by the left-arm spinner, gives away just five runs in the over. RCB 70/0 in 7 overs.

After welcoming Theekshana with a six and four in the previous over, Salt (46* off 23) gets stuck into Sandeep Sharma, coming out to hit him for a SIX straight back, and it followed a third dropped catch, with Jaiswal putting down Salt and then missing a direct hit to run him out. And the English opener makes it look too easy as he toys with the bowler's mind, sending a full-toss on leg-side to the fine-leg fence for another FOUR. RCB 65/0 in 6 overs. Kohli batting on 18. A leading-edge off Salt's bat, but the return catch didn't stick for bowler Sandeep Sharma in his outstretched right hand. Two chances for RR, but none availed. RCB 37/0 in 4 overs.

Virat Kohli comes out to hit big against Sandeep Sharma and miscues it. But the skier is dropped by Riyan Parag coming in from long-on. That can really cost RR big. RCB 37/0 in 3.3 overs.

Salt (23*) has the measure of RR's English pacer, making room twice in a row for two pull shots. The first one went for a FOUR, beating a valiant attempt to catch by Hetmyer; and the next, bowled at 147.7kmph, deposited into the stands in front of square for a huge SIX. RCB 30/0 in 3 overs.

And Kohli gets off the mark first ball, driving through the covers for a single. Getting the strike back later in the over, he chips the last ball over mid-wicket for his first four. RCB 14/0 in 2 overs.

Jofra Archer's sharp in-cutter almost had Phil Salt, but a brush off the pad saved the RCB opener and the ball raced to the fine-leg fence for a FOUR. Off the fourth ball ball, after judging the short length early, Salt made room on the off-side to hook and got enough on it to go over the fine-leg fence for a SIX. RCB 10/0 in 1 over.

Hazlewood gets his revenge, sending back the dangerous Jaiswal for 75 off 47 balls. That's a massive blow! RR 126/3 in 16 overs.

It's almost a Rishabh Pant-like shot, making room to hit fine on the leg-side, going down on one knee and eventually falling at the point of contact. Goes for SIX over deep fine-leg. And a misfield gives him another boundary, his 10th four. Jaiswal (75*) on the move!

The RR innings has reached the halfway mark and stands at 77/1 in 10 overs, with Suyansh Sharma completing his first over, conceding 12 runs, including a dropped catch by Yash Dayal, who parried the ball to the boundary for a four.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi, the 14-year-old cricket prodigy and Rajasthan Royals' youngest-ever IPL signing, had a practice session against England fast bowler Jofra Archer during nets in the run-up to this game. The young talent, who celebrated his 14th birthday last month, joined the Jaipur franchise for Rs 1.1 crore following the auction held in Jeddah last year.
