Haryana hits high ranks in UPSC: Bahadurgarh lad bags AIR 9 in 5th attempt, Sonipat’s Shreyak 35th
Rohtak: Bahadurgarh's Aditya Vikram Aggarwal secured AIR (all-India rank) 9 in the UPSC exam, the result of which was announced on Tuesday.
A resident of Sector 2 in Bahadurgarh of Jhajjar, Aditya cracked the prestigious exam in his fifth attempt, turning years of hard work into success.
His parents—Madhu and Ram Avatar Aggarwal—beamed with joy, vowing to celebrate and offer prayers at the temple. A graduate of NIT-Allahabad and former employee at Tata Motors, Adtiya gave up his job to pursue civil services. He wishes to work in areas like education, health, and environment, embodying the values of honesty and public service instilled by his parents.
Joining him in bringing pride to Bahadurgarh was Abhilash Sundaram, who improved his rank to AIR 129 this year from 421 last time. Son of Triveni School director S Shyam, Abhilash earlier joined the Indian Trade Service. This year, he aims to serve the country as an IPS officer, fulfilling his father's dream.
From Sonipat, Dr Shreyak Garg secured AIR 35, adding yet another laurel to his illustrious academic journey. A doctor by training from MGIMS, Wardha, Shreyak is the son of professor R K Garg, dean, DCRUST, Murthal, and Dr Sandhya Garg.
Charkhi Dadri's daughters made the state equally proud. Swati Phogat from Mod village achieved AIR 306 in her second attempt, while Ankita Sheoran from Dhanasri village cracked the exam with AIR 337. Swati, who is pursuing a PhD from Jaipur's Banasthali Vidyapeeth, earlier cleared NET and JRF, and is the daughter of retired DPE Ramesh Phogat. Inspired by her grandfather, she remained undeterred after failing her first attempt.
Ankita Sheoran, without any coaching, cleared the exam in her second try and secured 337th AIR. She is a gold medallist in MBBS from PGIMS Rohtak and an MD from RML Hospital, Delhi. Daughter of retired DEO Vijender Sheoran, her success is celebrated across Mahendragarh and Jhajjar districts.
Yash Malik, Sirsa's city magistrate achieved the 369th rank. Malik, a 2023-batch Haryana Civil Services (HCS) officer, was posted in Sirsa since Feb 10. Originally from Isapur Kheri village in Sonipat district, Malik currently resides in Karnal. He holds an engineering degree from NIT-Kurukshetra.
