, the minister for information and technology, visited the Electronic Manufacturing Cluster (EMC) at Tuem on Tuesday to examine its preparedness as govt plans to operationalise it at the earliest.“This cluster is part of Goa’s larger ambition to strengthen its presence in the electronic manufacturing space,” said Khaunte after reviewing the site with plot allottees, stakeholders, and senior officials.
“We are moving from policy to on-ground action to ensure investors get needed clearances, and there is coordination among the departments. The meeting wasn’t just about reviewing progress, it was about removing roadblocks and enabling immediate momentum,” he said.
Khaunte engaged with each plot allottee to gain insights into their development plans and reaffirm the department’s support in facilitating timely progress—including expediting processes related to electricity and water connections, and identifying skilling needs to support future operations at the cluster.
The visit also included discussions with departments such as fire and emergency services and police.
Khaunte was joined by Chandrakant Shetye, chairman of InfoTech Corporation of Goa Ltd (ICGL), Kabir Shirgaonkar, managing director of ICGL, and senior officers Praveen Volvoikar and Subrai Nadkarni.
