Prayagraj: A Student-Administration Synergy Committee (SASC) has been formed at the Indian Institute of Information Technology, Allahabad, with equal and wide representation of students and faculty. Bridging the communication gap, this committee will provide amicable solutions to all student-related problems and issues on campus, thus creating harmony and avoiding the recurrence of unfortunate situations in the future. The committee will comprise undergraduate and postgraduate students, research scholars, and academic administrators. It will serve as a structured platform for dialogue, policy recommendations, and issue resolution, fostering a collaborative academic and administrative environment.
Director, IIITA, Prof Mukul Sharad Sutaone, stated that this committee has been designed to serve as a dynamic platform that promotes continuous and constructive dialogue between students and faculty.
The committee will meet regularly, with discussions focusing on the evolving needs of the student body and the institution's administrative policies, ultimately working towards mutual growth and progress. It will facilitate structured interactions between students, scholars, and academic administrators with transparent communication, providing a formal channel for students to present concerns and suggestions, policy formulation and implementation, and discuss and recommend improvements in academic policies, student welfare measures, and administrative processes, said the director.
Mainly, the committee will ensure effective implementation of student-centric initiatives and track their impact. Evaluating and proposing solutions for issues related to hostels, mess, campus infrastructure and extracurricular activities will also be the task of the committee.
Notably, the committee will promote student well-being (mental, physical, psychological and emotional) by addressing concerns regarding campus life and facilities, including special attention for differently-abled students. The committee will meet the Director on 30th of every month to review discussions, assess action points, and track progress. It will also submit a quarterly report outlining key issues, proposed solutions, and implementation updates. In the committee, the representatives of the administration are all ex-officio, while the student representatives will be changed every three months.
