Urooj Ashfaq's journey into stand-up comedy began in 2016 when started attending open mics and watching comedy shows. A graduate in Psychology, she began her comedy career in 2016 at the age of 21, performing alongside fellow comic Sumaira Shaikh, and quickly gained recognition as a finalist on TLC’s Queens of Comedy in 2017. Her UK debut show, Oh No!, earned her the prestigious Best Newcomer Award at the 2023 Edinburgh Comedy Awards, making her the first India-based comedian to win this honour. She has also performed on Comedy Premium League and co-hosted Comicstaan Season 2. Urooj’s comedy delves into personal experiences, including therapy and family dynamics, resonating with global audiences.
