Ex-Congress MLA Abrahni joins SP

Mumbai: Former Congress MLA Yusuf Abrahni, who quit Congress recently, joined Samajwadi Party (SP) on Tuesday. Abrahni, who is also president of Islam Gymkhana, along with activists Saeed Khan, Zeba Malik and Shehzad Abrahni, joined SP in the presence of SP national president Akhilesh Yadav and party's Maharashtra president and MLA Abu Asim Azmi.
"I was with Congress for over two decades. But in the last assembly election, some local Congress leaders ensured I did not get a ticket. I did not see any future in that party," said Abrahni. tnn
