Three patients shifted after Lokbandhu hosp fire remain critical, rest stable
Lucknow: The condition of the critically ill patients who were shifted to other hospitals from Lokbandhu hospital after a fire broke out on Monday, remained unchanged a day later.
Among the three critical patients, one is battling pneumonia, the second is undergoing treatment for tuberculosis affecting the liver, and the third has birth defects.
At Balrampur hospital, where 13 patients were admitted, one is a bit serious, said director Dr Dinesh Kumar. He added, "His liver is slightly weak due to earlier tuberculosis, and he is still on TB medication."
KGMU received eight patients. According to chief medical superintendent of the trauma centre, Prof Prem Raj Singh, three were discharged, while five are still admitted. Of these, two are in serious condition — a 26-year-old with pneumonia and a 90-day-old infant with a birth defect. They are in intensive care.
Avantibai hospital admitted six patients, all of whom are stable. CMS at Jhalkari Bai hospital, Dr Nivedita Kar reported that four patients admitted there are also doing well.
At Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences (RMLIMS), four children are under observation. Dr Deepti, who is monitoring their care, said the patients include a 3-day-old, a 1-day-old, a 12-month-old and a 15-month-old, all of whom are stable.
