LU’s second campus gets two high-tech labs
Lucknow: As part of its ongoing technology development initiatives, Lucknow University on Tuesday inaugurated two modern laboratories at its second campus — an Apple iMac Laboratory and an Artificial Intelligence Laboratory. These labs feature 72 high-performance computer systems, including 36 Apple iMacs and 36 AI-integrated systems.
These labs, located in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, under the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, aim to provide students with practical experience in cutting-edge technology.
The Apple iMac Lab is equipped with the latest Mac systems and Apple's development tools like Swift and Xcode. It supports the university's goal to become an Apple Authorised Training Centre for Education (AATCE), offering students access to industry-standard software and tools for app development and design.
The AI Lab is designed to give students hands-on experience in frontier technologies such as machine learning, data analytics, robotics, and natural language processing. The facility includes specialized hardware and software to help students explore real-world applications of artificial intelligence.
LU Vice-Chancellor Prof Alok Kumar Rai, said, "We are empowering our students to be creators, innovators, and leaders in technology. These facilities represent our commitment to future-ready education."
Students shared their enthusiasm about the new facilities. Final-year BTech student, Ankita Verma, said, "It's going to be a game changer for app development and design-focused learning."
