‘Double-engine’ claim of BJP is hollow: RG
Panaji: BJP’s claims of ‘double-engine’ have proved to be hollow, as the Pramod Sawant-led govt failed to secure the Centre’s support for a joint site inspection at Kalsa-Bandura, said the Revolutionary Goans (RG).
RG president, Manoj Parab, questioned govt’s lethargy in recording the extent of construction of a diversion canal undertaken by Karnataka.
“WRD minister Subhash Shirodkar says that Karnataka did not give permission to conduct an inspection, but our govt claims that it has a double engine. They talk about Modi and Amit Shah helping Goa, so why are they scared of conducting a joint inspection? What is the benefit of the double engine? BJP should go and get the Mhadei river diversion project scrapped by Modi and Amit Shah,” said Parab.
He said that national parties never worked for Goa’s interests but rather worked to sell Goa’s resources to other states. “Goa faces a water crisis, and our govt is giving water to Karnataka, and this is only because the BJP wants to get more MP seats in Karnataka,” said Parab.
