Kanpur:
RSS chief
Mohan Bhagwat on Tuesday emphasized on the organisation's commitment to fostering social harmony through grassroots activities.
He attended a ‘shakha' at Kanpur's Nirala Nagar Park on the third day of his five-day visit, where he met 70 'Samajik-Samrasta' activists and had detailed discussions on social initiatives across various districts.
Regional 'Samajik-Samrasta' head Ravi Shankar said Bhagwat elaborated on the organisation's commitment to fostering unity through grassroots activities and shared examples of successful harmony-building projects from different regions.
The RSS chief also laid stress on the importance of environmental conservation and family values in societal development. He outlined plans for expanding social outreach programmes in Uttar Pradesh, particularly focusing on youth engagement and community service.
During the session, district representatives presented local challenges and achievements. They discussed strategies for strengthening inter-community relationships and promoting cultural exchange programmes. The emphasis remained on practical solutions rather than theoretical approaches. Bhagwat addressed concerns about the urban-rural divide in social harmony efforts. He suggested implementing successful urban models in rural areas while respecting local customs and traditions. The discussion touched upon the role of education in promoting social understanding and cooperation.
Representatives from the Nirala Nagar branch shared their successful community engagement models. The focus was on replicating these initiatives across other 'shakhas' while maintaining local relevance.
For the April 16 scheduled meetings, detailed agendas were prepared. The organisation plans to involve local environmental experts and family counsellors in these initiatives. Special attention will be given to water conservation projects and family strengthening programmes.
The day ended with a collective resolution to strengthen social harmony initiatives across all levels of society.
The event saw participation from regional coordinator Anil, regional coordinator Shri Ram, regional head Bhawani Bhikh, and social harmony representatives from 21 districts. On Wednesday, Bhagwat is scheduled to meet with environmental activity and family awareness workers.
