Jaipur: Former Indian volleyball captain Lavmeet Katariya has been named as the national selector of the senior Indian volleyball team. Rohit Rajpal, chairman of the ad-hoc committee of the Volleyball Federation of India (VFI) and Alakh Nanda Ashok, member of the ad-hoc committee, have formed a 7-member committee of selectors for the selection trials of the Indian volleyball team in which Jaipur's former international spiker Lavmeet Kataria has been appointed as a member of the selection committee of the Indian team.
Lavmeet has reached Bengaluru on Monday and will be involved in picking the senior national volleyball team. The selection trials will be underway from May 6 at the SAI Centre, NSSC in Bengaluru. On the selection of Lavmeet, Arjun Awardee Suresh Mishra, Baldev Singh Godara and international coach Jaynarayan Chaudhary congratulated Lavmeet and wished him a bright future.
