Ahmedabad: The maximum temperature on Tuesday in the city reached 41.9°C, which was 1.7 degrees higher than normal. At 23.9°C, the minimum temperature was 1.2 degrees higher than normal.
On Wednesday, Ahmedabad's maximum temperature may reach 42°C, indicated the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecast.
A rise of 2-3 degrees in maximum temperature is expected over the next 48 hours. Thereafter, no large change is likely over the region. Maximum temperatures are likely to be in the range of 40-44 degrees celsius over parts of the Gujarat region.
At 43°C, Surendranagar and Rajkot recorded the highest maximum temperatures in Gujarat.
