NAMAKKAL: In the wake of a terrorist attack in Kashmir’s Pahalgam, police in Namakkal district on Tuesday night began checking two-wheelers without number plates. Police seized around 25 such two-wheelers in Namakkal town.

Rajesh Kannan to direct all traffic police officers to seize unregistered two-wheelers.
Traffic police carried out thorough vehicle checks in Rasipuram, Senthamangalam, Kumarapalayam, Pallipalayam and Namakkal town.
In Namakkal town, traffic sub-inspector Gunaseelan oversaw inspections on the Salem Main Road, the Erode Main Road, the Trichy Road and the Mohanur Road, resulting in the seizure of more than 25 vehicles.
The SI said fines were imposed on the riders of the two- wheelers without number plates. They were instructed to settle the fines in court.
