Day after becoming a father, Red Bull driver Max Verstappen went on to win pole position in the Qualifying for the main race of the Miami Grand Prix. He is followed by Lando Norris in second place and Mercedes rookie Kimi Antonelli grabbing third position — his best in an F1 qualifying for the main Formula 1 race.

Max Verstappen proves he fatherhood won’t slow him down

This is Max Verstappen’s third pole position of the season after the ones in Japan and Saudi Arabia. While he managed to win the Japanese Grand Prix, he settled for second position in Saudi Arabia, with Oscar Piastri taking the win.
Looking very happy after grabbing pole, Verstappen said as per Formula 1, "It's been a great Qualifying. I think we improved the car a tiny amount which helped me to rotate it a bit better and honestly, Q1, Q2, Q3, just improving every run really, trying to find a bit more the limit. I had a tiny moment on my final lap into Turn 1 so I lost a bit of time there, but around here it's very complicated with the tyres over a lap, but in the end it worked out well so I'm very happy of course to be on pole."

McLaren driver Lando Norris, who just won the F1 Sprint in Miami, took the second spot in the Qualifying for the Sunday race. His teammate Oscar Piastri is in fourth on the grid, while Mercedes driver George Russell is in fifth position.
Kimi Antonelli had won pole position for the F1 Sprint, and getting third place in the Qualifying for the Sunday race is his best qualifying performance so far for the main race. Speaking after his third position in Qualifying, Antonelli said, “It was a good way to bounce back. I struggled a little bit during the session – the track was quite a lot different compared to yesterday. Obviously with the rain, it washed out most of the rubber so a different feeling in the car and it took a little bit to adapt but I’m happy with the last lap.”
The Qualifying turned out to be a disaster for Ferrari driver Lewis Hamilton as he finished 12th and was eliminated ahead of the main race. Thankfully, Charles Leclerc finished 8th in Qualifying. Leclerc had crashed into the wall while moving to the grid before the start of the F1 Sprint, leaving his car heavily damaged.

Meanwhile, Williams seem to be doing well with Carlos Sainz taking 6th and Alex Albon 7th position in Qualifying. The Miami Grand Prix Sunday race will start at 4 pm (local time). The F1 fans can watch the race at 1:30 am (IST).
