Free laptops distributed to students

T'puram: As part of People's Planning Project, city corporation on Monday distributed free laptops to 165 scheduled caste (SC) category students who were identified as beneficiaries in 2023-24 academic year. The initiative was led by welfare standing committee chairman Kleins Rosary and deputy mayor PK Raju.
Since the current administration assumed office, 462 SC students benefited from laptop distribution. With the latest round, laptops were distributed to 627 SC students.The civic body also provided 340 laptops to UG and PG students from fisherfolk families residing in coastal wards.
In total, 967 students received free laptops under the current administration. TNN
