KALYAN:
After the video showing Nathuram Godse’s photograph went viral on social media, Congress leaders demanded legal action against those responsible for displaying it during the Ram Navami procession in Kalyan.
Kanchan Kulkarni, district women president of the Congress party in Kalyan, and Rajesh (Munna) Tiwari, state secretary, along with party workers, met ACP Kalyanji Ghete and demanded action against those who displayed the picture of Godse.
Kulkarni said, "During the Ram Navami Shobha Yatra, the images of great men like Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Bharat Ratna Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar, and Maharana Pratap were displayed to highlight the great work they did for their society. But in the same procession, an attempt was made to create a rift in society by displaying the image of a social evil like Nathuram Godse, who killed our Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi. We want legal action to be taken against those who displayed the picture of Godse."
