JAC warns schools for delay in uploading marks
Ranchi: The Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) on Tuesday issued a stern warning to schools for failing to upload internal assessment marks of students enrolled in classes VIII and IX on its portal, despite multiple deadline extensions.
Out of 12,638 schools, 2,691 are yet to upload the internal assessment marks. The original deadline of March 30 was extended to April 12, following repeated requests from schools.
Sources in the council said the delay reflects gross negligence on the part of the institutions, potentially jeopardising the academic results of the students. A list of the defaulting schools has been circulated along with the official notice, they added.
Stressing that the lapse would not be tolerated, the council directed the district education offices to seek clarification from the headmasters of the schools concerned.
Marks can be uploaded online til April 18. No representations or appeals will be entertained after this date. In case any student's result is adversely affected due to the non-submission of marks, the responsibility will rest with the head of the school concerned.
