Min Kokate for Samruddhi connector at Borkhind, bridge at confluence of two rivers
Nashik: Agriculture Minister Manikrao Kokate on Friday conducted a meeting on Simhastha Kumbhmela with officers, including divisional commissioner Praveen Gedam and others.
During the meeting, he also suggested undertaking several developmental works in Sinnar taluka as well. According to a senior officer from district administration, the meeting with the minister, along with three MPs – Rajabhau Waje, Bhaskar Bhagare, and Shobha Bachhav – involved discussions and proposals to include developmental works at Sinnar in the govt plan.
"The minister pointed out that an ingress and egress from the Samruddhi Expressway should be constructed at Borkhind, and a connector should be built to Nashik city. This will provide shortest link to the city from the expressway, benefiting people coming from the North and Mumbai region," an official said.
Other suggestions included construction of a major bridge at Darna Sangvi, the confluence of Godavari and Darna rivers. If a bigger bridge is constructed and Sinnar–Naygaon–Jogaltembhi road is widened to four lanes and connected to Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar road, it will provide an alternative route for people to easily reach Panchavati area.
Among other demands presented by Kokate is construction of an "outer ring road" around Sinnar linking Musalgaon MIDC, located on eastern side of Sinnar town, with Malegaon MIDC on the western side.
The official stated that these issues were discussed at a very primary level, and the officers of the concerned department will first evaluate the proposals. "The discussions were at a very preliminary stage. The proposals will be studied by the departments, and based on their feasibility, the govt will further consider them," said the official.
