Nagpur: Citizens from across the region gathered at Union minister
Nitin Gadkari's public relations office in Khamla on Sunday, seeking quick solutions to various issues, which ranged from civic concerns to personal grievances. The session saw a series of spot interventions by the Nagpur MP, including direct calls to administrative officials.
Among the issues raised, a group from Buldhana district sought assistance for specially-abled students at a residential school. They requested support under the central government's ADIP scheme, which provides aid to persons with disabilities. In response, Gadkari contacted Buldhana Collector Kiran Patil and directed him to process the request. A letter from Gadkari's office was reportedly sent to the collector shortly after.
The group later expressed satisfaction with the quick response, though the outcome of the request will depend on how the district administration follows up.
Similarly, residents from Ayodhyanagar submitted a complaint about drainwater entering their homes. According to attendees, Gadkari called the Nagpur municipal commissioner and asked for immediate action. A young woman from a farmer suicide-affected family also approached the Union road transport and highways minister, seeking employment. Gadkari acknowledged the request and assured that it would be looked into, though no details were provided on the kind of support to be offered.
Sunday's meeting saw a steady flow of visitors, some returning to check the status of previous complaints. Several attendees claimed that issues raised in earlier sessions, such as pothole repairs and pending government documents, had been resolved after ministerial follow-up. Others came with new petitions related to infrastructure, water supply, education, and departmental delays.
