Three men dupe fireman of 2.3L

Mumbai: A 40-year-old firefigher with the Mumbai Fire Brigade was duped of Rs 2.3 lakh by three men posing as Indian Army officers interested in purchasing a property that he had put up for sale.
To convince the complainant about his identity and profession, the accused sent across a copy of his "Aadhaar card" and a copy of an ID card issued by the "Border Security Force" over WhatsApp. The complainant did not realize that the documents were fake. Borivli Police have registered an FIR and are probing further. The incident dates back to Sept 2024. tnn
