BJP needs 52% votes to win 27 or more seats in 2027 polls: CM
Panaji: Chief minister Pramod Sawant on Wednesday said that BJP needs to secure 52% of the votes to win 27 or more seats in the 2027 assembly elections.
“If we are to achieve a 52% vote share, then our karyakartas must speak about the govt’s achievements, including human resources, infrastructure and govt schemes. I have confidence in our karyakartas to reach out to people and list govt’s achievements,” Sawant said.
He said that if karyakartas do not understand their role, there is a possibility of confusion during the elections. “We have to work systematically; then it won’t be difficult for us to win 27 or more seats in the next assembly elections,” Sawant said. He said that BJP has formed govt in the state for three consecutive terms and aims to form govt for a fourth term.
The CM said that karyakartas are crucial for BJP to secure 27 or more seats in the next assembly elections. He asked karyakartas to respond to criticism from the opposition on social media. Sawant said that karyakartas are the leaders in constituencies, and because of them, BJP wins seats.
BJP state president Damodar Naik said that there was a time when nobody wanted to become BJP members, but today many people want to join BJP, and the party has welcomed them.
Naik said that he has told leaders in Delhi that BJP’s vote share is 33.3%, and his resolution is to achieve a 52% vote share for BJP. “I urge old karyakartas to return to the party, there should be no resentment against each other, as we are both here” Naik said.
