BENGALURU: Sandalwood actor Darshan, an accused in the murder of S Renukaswamy of Chitradurga, skipped the court hearing Tuesday. According to the bail condition, Darshan and 16 other accused in the case, including his girlfriend Pavithra Gowda, were required to appear before the court.
Pavithra and others appeared in court. However, Darshan filed an exemption petition through his advocate, seeking exemption from the proceeding, citing backache. His advocate also filed a petition to release the mobile phones seized during the investigation. The judge of CCH 57 accepted Darshan's exemption petition. The judge asked the advocate to ensure that he does not skip the proceedings in future.
Darshan and 16 others are accused of killing Renukaswamy on June 8 last year in a seized vehicle parking yard in Pattanagere. The court adjourned the proceeding to May 20. Darshan was busy shooting the movie, Devil, and his advocate told the court that due to continuous shooting, he had developed a backache and hence, sought exemption.
