Lucknow: Attending classes regularly and giving equal importance to extra classes as regular ones, is what helped city students grab the top two ranks in Class 10 and Class 12 of the UP Board Examination.
"One should be honest in efforts, punctual in attitude, sincere, and have patience in doing any work. I was expecting good marks, but becoming a city topper is like a dream come true for me," said Ayush Kumar Maurya from SKD Academy Rajajipuram, who scored 92.80% to secure the first rank in the city, in Class 12. He mentioned that he was regular in attending classes and focused on what his teachers taught, rather than looking around for extra content online.
"Our teachers and parents are our best guides. I want to give the credit for my success to my father, Ajay Pal Maurya, who is a property dealer, my homemaker mother, Manju Devi, and my teachers," he added.
Another student, Harshita Johri of Brightland Inter College, clinched the second rank in the Class12 results.
"I didn't do anything special to score high; it was consistency and determination that helped me score well. I made sure not to miss any class, be it regular classes or extra classes taken at our school. To fight back exam stress, I listened to music and even wrote poems, which is one of my hobbies," said Harshita Johri, who scored 90.60% and secured the second rank in the district.
She mentioned that her parents, her father Mohit Johri, who is a DRM NE, and her homemaker mother, Manisha Johri, always taught her that hard work is the key to success.
"My Badey Papa, Dr Manoj Johri, is my biggest inspiration, and I want to become a doctor like him," she said.
Along with Harshita, Deepika Sharma from Bal Nikunj Inter College, Sri Nagar , also clinched the second rank, scoring the same percentage.
Meanwhile, Class 10 city topper Pragati Gupta of Bal Guide Inter College, Ritish Kumar, and Safal Mishra of Lucknow Public College Rajajipuram scored the same percentage of 95%.
"I believed in revising as much as I could and made sure to give equal time to every subject. This success has made me more confident. I want to become a software engineer," said Safal. Ritish, who also wants to become an engineer, said the best strategy is to be disciplined and consistent.
In the Class 10 results, city rank 2 was clinched by Ankshika Yadav of Bal Nikunj College and Shriyansh Asthana of Lucknow Public College, who scored the same percentage of 94.83%.
