Tribute to Lata by Surabhi Ranjan

Lucknow: Singer Surabhi Ranjan regaled listeners in a programme titled ‘A Musical Tribute to Lata Mangeshkar' by Surabhi Ranjan at Jaipuria Institute of Management on Wednesday.
A documentary film was exhibited depicting her journey to becoming a singer was picturised. About Lata Mangeshkar, she said, "Lata didi was ‘swarna kokila'and I have been her fan since childhood. I met her when she once came to Lucknow and I feel honoured to be singing her melodies to pay tribute."
She sang ‘Ajeeb dastan hai yeh', ‘Thaade rahiyo o banke yaar', ‘Piya tose naina lage re', ‘Rahen na rahen hum', ‘Pyaar kiya to darna kya' and ‘Kahin deep jale kahin dil'.
A visitor Aman Rathee (28) said, "I am a big fan of Lata Mangeshkar and her songs are evergreen". Reema Kapoor (67) who attended the show along with her daughter Nitisha, said, "Songs of Lataji are a treat to the ears."
