Pune: The district administration has made all the necessary arrangements over the hill to conduct the yatra peacefully. The huge ‘Sasan Kathis', which are an attraction during this yatra, started arriving at the temple from several villages. Over ten lakh devotees from across the states are expected to visit the hill in Wadi-Ratnagiri village in Kolhapur district.
The Jyotiba Temple will remain open for 79 consecutive hours. Shivraj Naikwade, secretary of Paschim Maharashtra Devasthan Samiti, said, "PMDS would provide a QR code facility to access information about the basic facilities for the devotees. The main day of the yatra is April12 and Jyotiba's temple would be open for darshan for 79 consecutive hours from 5am on April 11 to 11pm on April 14 (Monday). The procession of Sasan Kathis would start at 12pm on April 12. The palkhi ceremony of Jyotiba Temple would depart to Yamai Temple at 5:35pm."
In order to ensure the safety of devotees and seamless traffic, district collector Amol Yedge has imposed traffic regulations over the Jyotiba Hill from April 10 to 12 under Section 33 (1) (C) of the Maharashtra Police Act, 1951.
All types of vehicles are prohibited from stopping and parking on both sides of the road at Kerli Phata-Gaimukh-Danewadi Crossing, new MSRTC stand-Old MSRTC Stand and MTDC-Central Plaza-main parking-Yamai parking-Shrawani Hotel-Danewadi Phata-Male Phata-Mhasoba Devalaya and Shravani Hotel-Giroli Village T Point. These traffic regulations would be in place from 8am on April 10 to 11pm on April 12.
City traffic police inspector Nandkumar More said, "Heavy vehicles, trucks, three-wheelers and goods transport vehicles and tractors with two trolleys have been prohibited from moving towards the Jyotiba Hill from the villages of Kushire, Kerli, Waghbil, and Giroli side."
