15-day festivities for Ambedkar Jayanti in Kanpur

Kanpur: The birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar will be commemorated as a significant celebration on Monday (April 14) under the supervision of district magistrate Jitendra Pratap Singh, following the state government's instructions.
The celebration, themed ‘Our Constitution, Our Pride', will span 15 days from April 14 to April 28, encompassing various activities across rural and urban regions, including governmental and non-governmental educational institutions. On Sunday, preceding Ambedkar Jayanti, all administrative bodies and development blocks conducted thorough cleaning operations, including painting, repairs, decorations, and illumination arrangements at programme venues, parks, memorials, and other significant locations as part of the cleanliness initiative.
The birth anniversary celebrations will commence with officials and staff members offering floral tributes to Babasaheb's statue at the Collectorate auditorium.
The programme will feature presentations on Dr Ambedkar's philosophy and his significant role in constitutional development, alongside discussions about his accomplishments and character.tnn
