Jaipur: Manish Kumar Meena, the suspended sub-inspector accused of using a dummy candidate to secure his job in the 2018 sub-inspector recruitment exam, was dismissed from service Friday. Meena is believed to be on the run and is currently being searched for by the Rajasthan Police's Special Operations Group (SOG).
The dismissal order was issued by inspector general, intelligence, Vishnu Kant, after Meena failed to cooperate with the departmental inquiry and repeatedly ignored recall notices. Meena, a resident of Duletoki Dhani in Dausa district, was posted at the Nachna unit of CID (intelligence) Jaisalmer before his transfer to CID (special branch) Jaipur. He was absent without leave since April 1, 2024.
Officials said several notices were sent to him to report back to duty, but he neither responded nor participated in the inquiry proceedings.Rajasthan SOG found that a man named Roshan Lal Meena impersonated Manish during the 2018 sub-inspector recruitment exam, even attending the interview in his place.
Roshan successfully cleared the exam, and Manish secured a posting in the police's intelligence wing. Similar impersonations were carried out for Manish's brothers and an uncle in other govt recruitment exams between 2018 and 2021. TNN
