Jaipur Polo Team ends dominant 2024–25 Indian season with 12 triumphs and iconic ‘goal of the year’ by Padmanabh Singh
Jaipur: The Jaipur Polo Team has once again reaffirmed its position as India's premier polo institution, concluding the 2024–25 Indian season with an impressive 12 tournament victories across the national circuit. Out of 22 tournaments played, the Jaipur-based side secured 12 wins, reached 8 semi-finals, and finished as runners-up twice.
Spanning elite circuits across Jaipur, Jodhpur, Delhi, and beyond, the team delivered a commanding performance over 68 matches, scoring 382 goals — a testament to their prowess, precision, and passion for the sport. This was informed during a press conference held at the Ashok Club here on Thursday, which was addressed by the Jaipur Polo Team captain, Padmanabh Singh. Also present on the occasion were Narendra Singh, Ankur Mishra, Vikramaditya Barkana and Jai Singh from the Jaipur Polo Team Management Committee.
At the heart of this success stands Padmanabh Singh of Jaipur, who led the team with exceptional grace and power. His match-winning 120-yard strike in the Maharaja of Jodhpur Golden Jubilee Cup on December 20, 2024, was hailed as the "goal of the year" — a thrilling display of athleticism and instinct that captivated fans and players alike. His consistent form throughout the season has set a new benchmark for leadership in modern Indian polo.
"Jaipur is our home, and we are grateful to the people of Jaipur and Rajasthan for their unwavering support. All these wins mean so much more because we, as a team, get to share this with our city, our state, and our country. I dedicate all our victories to the city closest to my heart — Jaipur. I thank all the spectators, supporters, and organisers of these amazing tournaments," said Padmanabh Singh.
Season Highlights Include:
Victories in marquee tournaments including the Rajmata Gayatri Devi Memorial Cup, Leela SMS Polo Cup, Sir Pratap Singh Cup, Northern India Polo Championship, and the Maharaja of Jodhpur Golden Jubilee Cup.
Strong performances across all tournament levels (6-goal to 12-goal), showcasing the team's depth and adaptability.
Unmatched spectator engagement at Jaipur's Rambagh Grounds and other premier polo venues across northern India.
Beyond the field, the Jaipur Polo Team continues to uphold its legacy as a beacon of Indian heritage and sporting excellence. With deep-rooted royal lineage and a forward-looking approach to the game, the team offers a powerful platform for cultural diplomacy, lifestyle collaborations, and global partnerships.
The Jaipur Polo Team also extends heartfelt gratitude to its esteemed sponsors and partners, whose unwavering support played a vital role in making this season a grand success. Their belief in our vision and continued collaboration has helped elevate sport, both on and off the field. We especially thank USPA, AU Bank, Adani, Wonder Cement, Shree Cement for their invaluable partnership.
Looking ahead, the team is set to carry this momentum to the global stage with the much-anticipated Jaipur Polo Team UK Tour 2025 in July. The tour will include the prestigious Indian Polo Day at Guards Polo Club, UK, further cementing Jaipur's and India's place on the international polo map.
